... a planned photography session getting cancelled. While the reason for the cancellation was not a happy one---the uncle of a friend passed away---it did give me a chance to drive down and see the boyfriend. Time is going to be tight this week as I rush to get some things together for work.

Don't give up
Today I'm thankful for ...
... not giving up on going to tonight's photography meetup. I was really late getting there because of the baseball game, and there was no parking nearby. But I found a spot a few MUNI stops away and rode the train over. It turned to be an awesome meeting where I got some pointers on how to better photograph the products I'm shooting right now. There's a few pieces of equipment I need to get and that should totally improve the quality of the shots.

Mmm...sacrilicious...
Today I'm thankful for ...
... lots of good pizza choices. The photo meetup met at Goat Hill Pizza in SOMA and it was pretty good pizza. Granted the crust was quite hard, but the pizza itself tasted really good. Cheeses and other toppings were perfect.

It was all a blur
Today I'm thankful for ...
... cool new photography methods. A colleague recently brought up this thing some people have been doing: camera tossing. It is exactly that. While forcing a small camera (e.g. a point-and-shoot) to do a long exposure you toss and spin it. The results are quite spectacular. http://cameratoss.blogspot.com/
... friends who love photography. It turns out that a lot of people love taking pictures and are really good at it! I acquired my Canon Rebel when a friend sold it off because she was upgrading her camera. I joined a photography group on Meetup.com and have had a lot of fun going out to interesting places and doing photography shootouts.
